Internationalization of the PHD programme

The Doctoral program promotes and facilitates international cooperation also through the organization of research stays for doctoral candidates at foreign Universities and Institutions, as well as the holding of seminars with foreign professors, including in online mode. Furthermore, it aims to establish agreements with foreign Universities defining the modalities of cooperation, the possible awarding of a joint or double PhD degree, and the undertaking of doctoral theses under joint supervision.
The PhD Program in Legal Sciences, established at the Department of Law, has launched a joint supervision agreement (joint research thesis) with the Centre de Droit et Politique Comparées Jean-Claude Escarras of the University of Toulon, which enables the interested doctoral candidate (Dr. E. La Fauci, supervisor Prof. Giusi Sorrenti) to obtain simultaneously a double doctoral degree in Italy and France.
Joint supervision represents the first type of agreement aimed at achieving the internationalization of the PhD program. The doctoral candidate concerned will carry out each year a three-month research and training stay at the host institution, benefiting from a scholarship funded by the CDPC.
