The DI SEA GUAL project (Developing an International Strategy in the Euromediterranean Area on the Goods for an Updated Anthropic Loop) enabled the Department of Law “Salvatore Pugliatti” to be included in the prestigious list—drawn up by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) for the five-year period 2023–2027—of the 15 Departments of Excellence among Italian state universities, within the Area of Legal Sciences nationwide. This is an important recognition, which rewards research quality and provides substantial funding for a departmental development project aimed at achieving even more ambitious scientific, educational, and organizational goals during the reference period.
Within the PhD Program in Legal Sciences, a curriculum entirely in English has been activated, entitled Legal Goods and Social Inequalities. The establishment of this curriculum has made it possible to fund two additional doctoral scholarships.
The curriculum aims to train highly qualified researchers and professionals capable of experimenting with cutting-edge research methods in relation to the new challenges addressed by the Department of Law’s excellence program “DI SEA GUAL.”
Its objective is to develop advanced research, with a clear international and interdisciplinary projection, on the legal framework and the concrete possibilities of access to and use of environmental, cultural, digital, and bio-economic resources. It adopts an innovative perspective on issues of inequality, with the aim of promoting a strategy for the production and circulation of “new” legal goods capable of influencing the anthropization process, pursuing territorial sustainability goals, and enhancing the cultural diversity that characterizes the Euro-Mediterranean area.
Teaching activities are conducted exclusively in English and involve the participation of international experts and professors from prestigious foreign universities.
